On April 29, the process of transferring the assets to the state management was to begin in the Mezhyhirya state park-monument

On Monday, April 29, unidentified persons blocked the entrance to the Mezhgiria State Park and prevented members of the interagency commission from starting the process of transferring the seized property.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.

The interdepartmental commission arrived at the park to begin the process of transferring the seized property, which was transferred to the management of the ARMA on the basis of a court decision.

It is reported that the commission consists of representatives of the special administration of the Mezhyhirya Park-Monument, together with the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA), with the participation of representatives of the State Property Fund of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.

"Blocking the work of the interdepartmental commission is groundless and contradicts Ukrainian legislation. State bodies are acting to implement the laws of Ukraine and the Government's decision, which authorized them to transfer the seized assets to the management of the state institution "Park — a monument of garden and park art of national importance" Mezhyhirya ". Therefore, regardless of any obstacles, this process will take place, and the monument park will start its work for the benefit of the state," Serhiy Yuzvenko, acting director of the monument park, notes.

As you know, the state institution Mezhyhirya must be transferred to the management of movable property, which is part of the infrastructure of the complex and is used to provide heat, electricity, water supply and drainage, as well as to ensure the protection of the park. Thus, the transfer of this property will ensure the smooth operation of the state institution.

The transfer of other seized property, such as garden equipment, furniture, paintings, museum interiors, etc., to state management is also provided for.

"The interdepartmental commission operates within the framework of the legal field. Thus, the creation of the Mezhyhirya tourist park is provided for by Law of Ukraine No. 3264. By the same document, the Government was instructed to ensure the creation of a special administration of the monument park. Currently, such an administration has been created and it has already issued land plots of "Mezhihirya" for permanent use. So, according to all documents, the owner of this territory is the state. Therefore, it is currently important to transfer the property to the legal administration", commented the First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the committee on environmental policy and nature management recommended that the Verkhovna Rada adopt as a basis and as a whole the government draft law No. 9354 "On the creation of a park-monument of horticultural art of national importance "Mezhyhirya".

In May 2024, the process of nationalization of Mezhyhirya – the former residence of Viktor Yanukovych – will finally be completed. For the first time in a decade, the park will direct its profits to the state budget.
