Eco-violators compensated 777 thousand hryvnias of damages

In Transcarpathia, eco-inspectors calculated in August 84 million hryvnias of damage caused by violators of environmental legislation.

Corresponding claims and lawsuits were sent to individuals and legal entities, the State Environmental Inspection in Zakarpattia Oblast reports on Facebook.

It is noted that during the month, eco-inspectors conducted a number of activities in the following territorial communities:

  • Yasinyanska;
  • Onokivska;
  • Perechynska;
  • Vynogradivska.

The press service emphasized that eco-inspectors drew up 133 administrative protocols. The amount of imposed fines reached 53 thousand hryvnias, of which 90% have already been paid. In addition, environmental violators compensated 777 thousand hryvnias of damages.

"It is also worth noting the fact that the number of appeals and reports has increased in the State Ecoinspection, which indicates the growing trust of the population in the Ecoinspection," the report said.

The head of the State Inspectorate in the Transcarpathian region, Mykhailo Bank, thanked the residents of the region, who stood up to protect the ecology of Transcarpathia and take an active position in the fight against the destruction of the natural environment.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Transcarpathia in the resort town of Solotvino water treatment facilities are in critical condition, are overloaded and work inefficiently, due to which untreated sewage pollutes the Khustets River, a tributary of the cross-border Tysa.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in August in Transcarpathia, eco-inspectors calculated 9.25 million UAH in damages for illegal felling in the regional landscape park "Prytisyanskyi".
