In Zakarpattia, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed an enterprise that illegally extracted and sold minerals, namely andesite, in the amount of UAH 270 million.

The company is part of an Austrian construction concern, the shareholder of which is one of the Russian oligarchs included in the sanctions list of the National Security and Defense Council, according to the Security Service of Ukraine in the Transcarpathian region on Facebook.

After the expiration of the relevant state licenses, the company uncontrollably continued work on the extraction of andesite (igneous volcanic rock used in construction).

A number of examinations established that more than 113,000 cubic meters of rock had been extracted illegally.

"As part of the criminal proceedings, law enforcement officers have gathered enough evidence to prosecute those involved in the crime," the Security Service of Ukraine said.

The material also noted that the director of the company was declared a suspect under Part 4 of Art. 240 (violation of the rules of protection or use of subsoil, illegal extraction of minerals) of the Criminal Code.

The transaction was documented by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Zakarpattia region together with the National Police and the Department of Strategic Investigations under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office.
