In the Poltava region in the Kremenchug district in the Globinsky community, it is planned to build a waste processing plant or a point for the processing of solid household waste.
Seven communities signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on waste management, Telegraf reports.
Oleg Lednik, head of the Kremenchuk regional military administration, said that the memorandum takes into account the economic and logistical component of each community, which will allow for the efficient use of budget funds.
It is noted that the concept of a waste processing plant was presented by the deputy mayor of Globa, Oleksandr Kocherga. A similar plant operates in the German city of Bad Kestritz. It consists of three workshops, namely:
- complex for acceptance, sorting and preparation of decomposable waste;
- biogas power plant;
- shop for the production of organic fertilizers.
This plant produces:
- thermal energy;
- electrical energy;
- organic fertilizers;
- secondary raw materials.
“As of 2021, the cost of such a waste processing plant was approximately €20 million. It was planned to attract investments according to the formula 80% investor money/20% community money precisely so that it would be a joint venture, and we could effectively manage such an enterprise for territory of the district," Lednik said, adding that the project was delayed.
It is noted that the project is planned to be implemented after 2023.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Transcarpathia, in the village of Yanoshi, preparatory work began on the construction of a waste sorting plant, in particular, all the necessary documents were signed, and 20 pieces of equipment began to work at the construction site.
As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in Lutsk city authorities began preparations for the construction of a waste processing plant.
