In Odesa region, two new wooden houses have been built on the banks of the Dniester near the water's edge on the land of the Bilyayivka forestry.

This construction has completely destroyed the natural landscape of the coastal protection zone, Iryna Vykhrystyuk, acting director of the Tuzly Estuaries National Nature Park, wrote on Facebook.

She emphasized that such construction violates not only environmental legislation, but also the guaranteed right of citizens to unimpeded access to the water body.

"For some, war is only an opportunity, for example, to quickly invest money in another illegal project, taking advantage of bans on inspections and the absolute "blindness" of controlling authorities," Vykhrystiuk wrote.

In her opinion, the developers do not have permits for any earthworks and construction, and illegal workers work at the facility.

Vykhrystiuk called on the Southern Forest Office of the state enterprise "Forests of Ukraine," the State Environmental Inspectorate, the Odesa Regional Council, the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Odesa Regional State Administration, and the rector of the Odesa State Environmental University, Serhiy Stepanenko, to pay attention to and counteract the destruction of the Dniester coast.

She added that the construction area, despite its uniqueness and value, was not included in the Lower Dniester National Nature Park in 2008. In her opinion, this was a deliberate decision, as the protected status of the nature reserve fund would have prevented the usurpation of the coast. Currently, this territory is planned to be included in the boundaries of the Mayak community.

Earlier, Ecopolitic wrote, that in August, an unknown company flooded the rivulet of the Khadzhiker River in the Mykolaivka-Novorossiysk region (Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district of the Odesa region).

As EcoPolitic previously reported, six "box" houses were built in the Carpathians near the Bukovel resort in the village of Tatariv on the banks of the Prut River. For this construction, trees were cut down on the coast and the shore was dug up.
