As a result of such actions, the river is almost completely killed

An unknown company filled up the Khadzhiker riverbed in Mykolaivka-Novorossiysk district (Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district of Odesa region).

Doctor of biological sciences, professor, deputy director of the "Tuzlivski lymany" NPP said this on his Facebook page. He emphasized that there are many criminals within Ukrainian society who kill small rivers.

"Here in front of you in the photo is the Hajider River (from the Turkic – bitter river). Recently, it, together with the Alkaliya River, was one of the main sources of fresh water for the Tuzli estuaries and supported, at least partially, the life of natural ecosystems and biodiversity in the National Natural Park. But the Soviet system finished the floodplain and straightened the channel along its entire length from Moldova to our estuaries," Rusev said.

However, according to him, the Khajider River was recently damaged during the war, when an unknown company quickly filled its channel near Mykolaivka-Novorossiysk.facebook.com/rusevivan

"The river is almost completely dead, but there was still a possibility of water passing under the bridge during floods and heavy rains – 20 m along the width of the channel and all the way to the bed of the lower mark of the channel. Now some domestic ignoramuses have built a dam 1.5 m high from the bottom of the river channel and set restrictions on the passage of water through two pipes with a total cross-section of only 2 m. Crime and barbarism in practice, and presumably with state funds," the ecologist added.

As EcoPolitic reported, in the occupied Melitopol of the Zaporizhzhia region, the Molochnaya river silted up, its waters became white, covered with white foam and acquired a sharp unpleasant smell.
