The police caught the violator red-handed

In the Lviv region, the court fined a resident of the village of Boyanets 20,400 hryvnias for dumping animal remains in an illegal cattle burial ground on the outskirts of the forest.

According to the headman of the village, Petro Holody, the trespassing entrepreneurs of the village have been throwing the remains of carcasses in the forest for years, and the opposition of the local authorities was useless, reports ZAXID.NET.

It is noted that the perpetrator is the son of the chairman of the village council.

The article said that the man was caught red-handed by the police in March when he threw the remains of slaughtered cows and a horse into the forest.

"During patrolling, police officers of the Veliko Mostov community noticed a suspicious car with a trailer in a wooded area near the village of Boyanets. At that time, the driver was dumping animal tails into a dug pit. Having noticed the law enforcement officers, the man left the trailer, got into his car and started to run away. He did not stop at the police's request responded," the police said, adding that the violator was caught a few kilometers away.

It is noted that the accused admitted his guilt and entered into an agreement with the prosecutor. However, the verdict has not yet entered into legal force and may be challenged in an appeal.

The authors emphasized that such pollution poses a significant threat to the environment, because toxic chemical compounds accumulate in the soil and bacteria develop, which can cause serious diseases in both animals and humans.

Yaroslav Royko, the mayor of the Veliko Mostov community, explained that illegal cattle burials are being fought, in particular, by contacting the law enforcement officers.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Lviv Oblast, the police closed criminal proceedings against the "Agrol" poultry farm, which drained the blood of birds and the rest of the waste into the Pidol River.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in 2021, the AgroOven enterprise poured blood and other waste of animal origin into the pond.
