It is planned to build a little more than a year

Oschadbank and the ECO-OPTIMA group of companies have signed a number of agreements to implement the Sokal Wind Farm project in Lviv region with a total capacity of 39.9 MW.

The announcement was made on the bank's official website.

This project involves the installation of 7 modern wind turbines from the German company NORDEX. It is estimated that they will generate about 122 million kWh of electricity per year.

Oschadbank will finance the construction of the Sokal wind farm for a total of €40 million. In addition to lending, it also includes the provision of an irrevocable confirmed “green” letter of credit worth more than €23 million with the participation of a partner bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

According to Yuriy Katsiyon, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Oschadbank, the project will take just over a year to complete. He says that for the Sokal community, the wind farm will provide additional jobs, revenues for land use and an alternative source of electricity, as well as contribute to the development of road infrastructure.

As a reminder, ECO-OPTIMA Group owns one of the 5 largest wind farms in free Ukraine – Orivska Wind Farm. It is located near Truskavets in Lviv region and has a capacity of 49.5 MW. This wind farm was launched at the end of 2023 and connected to the country's grid. During the full-scale war, ECO-OPTIMA also built the Skole wind farm with a capacity of 54.6 MW.
