In Lviv Oblast, 1.6 million lamps were exchanged and disposed of in six months of the program for exchanging incandescent lamps for energy-saving LED lamps.
The region became a leader among other regions, reports Lviv OVA.
It is noted that Kyiv Oblast (1.2 million lamps) and Kharkiv Oblast (almost 1 million) also made it to the top three.
Acting director of the department of ecology and natural resources of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Oksana Viytyk, emphasized that the project of free exchange of five working lamps was implemented with the funds of international partners.
"The initiative started in the winter, when the lights in homes were steadily turned off. Switching to LED lamps will help reduce energy consumption by 7-10% at peak times," she said.
It is noted that currently 1.596 million collected incandescent lamps have been disposed of. For this agency, contracts were concluded with Iskra-Trans-Logistic LLC, Bodnarivka State Enterprise and Zeleny Lviv LLP.
It is noted that from May 2023, people can exchange lamps only at the main branch of "Ukrposhta" in Lviv at the address: str. Slovak, 1.
The message emphasized that the second stage of the exchange of incandescent lamps for legal entities, namely for educational and medical institutions, began on June 9, 2023. More than 4,000 lamps have already been exchanged.
As EcoPolitic previously reported, the first stage of the program to exchange incandescent lamps for LED lamps was launched in Ukraine from January 30, 2023. Since February 25, the program has spread to all settlements.
