The financial effect for the city during the operation of the SPP will reach 10 million hryvnias

In Boryslav, Lviv region, a rooftop solar power plant was installed by doctors at the expense of Ukrnafta (UAH 1 million) and batteries for it at the expense of the community (UAH 835 thousand).

The power of the solar power plant is 30 kW, and the capacity of the battery is 40 kWh, the Parliamentary Committee on Energy, Housing and Utilities reports on Facebook.

It is noted that the solar power plant was put into operation in January. Under favorable weather conditions, it is able to fully provide the hospital with electricity and supply it to the grid. In addition, thanks to the battery, the hospital can provide itself with electricity for 4-5 hours in case of power outages.

The report said that in June, the Committee's chairman, Andriy Gerus, during an offsite meeting at one of Ukrnafta's facilities, proposed to the company to build a solar power plant. This was one of the ways to support the region where Ukrnafta operates.

According to Gerus, this is an extremely useful and financially beneficial project for the city. It is expected that during the operation of the SES, the positive financial effect for the city will amount to more than 10 million hryvnias.

"Boryslav is the cradle of the oil industry of Ukraine. The company supported this project with pleasure. We also had the opportunity for this, because in 2023 Ukrnafta received a record profit for the entire history of the company's existence, and, most importantly, we wanted to support the region where oil production," said Serhiy Koretskyi, director of Ukrnafta PJSC.

Earlier, Ecopolitic wrote, that in the Zhytomyr region, the Zvyagel multidisciplinary hospital saved 157 thousand UAH in 8 months thanks to the rooftop solar power plant.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, a rooftop solar power plant with a capacity of 28 kW was installed in the Voznesensk multidisciplinary hospital in Mykolaiv Oblast.
