An engineer who stole money for the repair of equipment at the Chernobyl NPP was exposed

Separate criminal proceedings were opened against other participants in the crime

In the Kyiv region, the prosecutor's office reported suspicion to an engineer who received more than 220,000 hryvnias for non-maintenance of equipment in the area of the Chornobyl NPP.

The man committed the offense together with an official of the "Central enterprise for the management of radioactive waste", reports the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office on Facebook.

In the message, it was said that the suspect had unjustifiably entered information about unperformed work into the act of completed works. The state enterprise transferred the specified funds, which caused losses to the state in the amount of more than 220,000 hryvnias.

It is noted that the engineer is suspected of complicity in the embezzlement of someone else's property by abusing his official position by an official, committed by a group of persons based on a prior conspiracy (Part 2 of Article 27, Part 3 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)

"Regarding other participants in the specified crime, the materials are allocated to a separate criminal proceeding," the message emphasized.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Kyiv, an official was informed of the suspicion of an attempt to seize a part of a children's health camp in Puscha-Vodytsia with an area of ​​4 hectares and a cost of UAH 27 million. They wanted in this area build and sell 34 separate residential cottages.
