In the Khmelnytskyi region in Slavut, utility workers equipped 31 public transport stops with lamps powered by solar batteries for additional lighting.
This was told by the head of the utility company "Slavuta-Service" Serhiy Smernin, stressing that the first such lamps were installed in 2020.
He explained that the lighting was installed at the request of residents with the money of "Slavut-Service". Lights on solar panels have a number of advantages, namely:
- energy saving;
- autonomous operation, even in the event of a blackout;
- quick payback.
Smernin said that one lamp on solar panels costs 1,100 hryvnias.
"In total, there are 55 public transport stops in Slavut. Solar panels have already been installed at 31 stops to improve lighting. We will continue to install them if there is such a need and the company's financial ability," he added.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Khmelnytskyi, on the territory of the higher vocational school No. 25, three benches with solar panels with USB ports were installed. The power of the panels reaches 40 W, which is enough to charge about 50 mobile phones.
As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Odesa, mobile operator lifecell installed 7 solar panels at the base station.
