"Metinvest" enterprises increased the fee for subsoil use by 10%

In 2022, the group of mining and metal companies Metinvest paid UAH 600 million in environmental taxes to the state and local budgets.

Despite the war, the total amount of taxes and fees paid reached 20.5 billion hryvnias, reports the Metinvest press service.

It is noted that the three largest deductions of the Group in Ukraine look like this:

  • income tax — 6.6 billion hryvnias;
  • the single social contribution is more than 4 billion hryvnias;
  • personal income tax — 3.7 billion hryvnias.

The message emphasized that in 2022, Metinvest companies increased the subsoil use fee by 10% compared to 2021 — up to 3.2 billion hryvnias, and the land fee by 28% — up to 1.1 billion hryvnias.

"Last year was very difficult for the whole country and for business in particular. Metinvest enterprises in Ukraine operate under the constant threat of enemy shelling and in conditions of electricity shortage. We had to reorganize our work, in particular due to the shutdown of the Mariupol plants and logistical limitations. However, the Group remains one of the largest taxpayers in the country and one of the largest private sponsors of the Ukrainian army," said Yuriy Ryzhenkov, CEO of Metinvest Group.

As EcoPolitic reported before, Metinvest group paid to the state and local budgets of Ukraine for January-September 2022 511 million hryvnias of environmental taxes.
