Prosecutors of the Lutsk District Prosecutor's Office have taken legal action to reclaim land plots of the Nature Reserve Fund (NRF) with an area of more than 30 hectares and a value of almost UAH 485 million.

This was reported by the Volyn Regional Prosecutor's Office.

This territory was previously used by the Kivertsi National Nature Park “Tsumanska Pushcha”. Based on illegal decisions of the authorities and local self-government bodies, namely the Main Department of the StateGeoCadastre in Volyn Oblast, Lutsk District State Administration and Olytsia Village Council, more than 30 hectares of the protected area were unreasonably classified as agricultural land, then transferred to communal ownership, and later leased to a business entity.

The Economic Court of Volyn Oblast upheld the claim filed by prosecutors and returned the lands of the national nature park to state ownership.

In March, EcoPolitics told that the director of the same Kivertsi National Nature Park "Tsumanska Pushcha" was informed about the suspicion of illegal cutting of trees in the amount of more than UAH 16.5 million.

At the same time, in the Mykolayiv region the court returned 8 hectares of territory to the national natural park "Buzky Gard"#>>>, which were transferred to private ownership for farming.
