The location chosen for its location has not yet been announced

A modern waste recycling center is to be built in Obukhiv district of Kyiv region, which will ensure environmentally friendly waste disposal and electricity generation.

The head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk, announced this on Facebook.

According to the official, discussions are underway. A meeting has already been held in Obukhiv with community representatives and the management of Obukhivmiskvtorresursy. The project envisages the construction of a plant with a closed cycle of solid waste processing. It is planned to involve European partners in its implementation.

The enterprise will have zero toxic emissions, produce up to 10 MW of electricity, and the residual heat generated will be used to heat the city, says the head of KOVA.

“The implementation will create new jobs and promote environmental awareness of communities,” he said.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, more companies in Ukraine will be able to obtain a simplified waste treatment permit. We also told you that a systemic crisis in the field of waste processing is brewing in our country.
