Border guards deny involvement in the killing of the bear

Employees of the Uzhan National Nature Park found out that the mother of the recently rescued bear cub in Transcarpathia was killed during illegal hunting.

Officials from the State Border Service probably organized the hunt, reports the Uzhanskyi NPP on Facebook.

It is noted that the bear was killed behind the line of engineering and technical structures on the lands of the nature reserve fund.

Border guards responded to the scandal

The Western Regional Office of the State Border Service of Ukraine explained that the accusations do not correspond to reality. After all, the photo was taken by the border squad of the Kamyanytsia unit when they came across the corpse of a male bear in early April. The head of the unit informed the employees of Kamianitsky forestry, who buried the remains of the animal.

It is noted that these circumstances are confirmed by the relevant act, which indicates the gender of the bear and the absence of signs of gunshot wounds.

The border guards emphasized that the distance from the place where the bear's body was found is about 60 kilometers from the area where the soldiers of the Stuzhitsa department previously found the bear. To find out all the circumstances, the management of the Chop border detachment is conducting an official investigation.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Transcarpathia, employees of the Uzhan National Nature Park boasted about rescuing a small bear on the outskirts of the village of Domashin. Social network users were interested in the question why the bear was without its mother.
