Work on calculating the damage caused by the Russian military aggression to the region's environment continues

Russian airstrikes and rocket fire caused damage to the Chernihiv region worth 10 billion hryvnias.

It was reported by Department of Ecology and Resources of Chernihiv OVA.

It is noted that the specialists of the State Ecological Inspectorate in the Chernihiv region calculated the amount of damage caused by the release of pollutants into the ecosystem at 20 sites.

Among the largest amounts:

- almost 3.41 billion hryvnias - unorganized release of pollutants into the atmosphere due to a fire at the forestry site № 1 of the State Enterprise "Chernihiv Military Forestry";

- more than 1.7 billion - littering of a land plot in Chernihiv on Ivan Bohun Street due to the destruction of a residential building;

- more than 1.1 billion - unorganized release of pollutants or mixtures of such substances into the atmosphere due to a fire at an oil depot in Chernihiv.

The calculation was carried out in accordance with special methods approved in April this year. All materials were handed over to the prosecutor's office by environmental inspectors.

We will add that work on calculation of the losses which the military aggression of the Russian Federation caused to environment of area proceeds.

We will remind also that in the morning on March 3 because of enemy attacks the shell of the Russian troops got to oil depot in the city of Chernihiv .

That same month, Russian troops fired on Chernihiv territory of one of the food enterprises. As a result of enemy shelling, a Russian shell hit the engine room and damaged the internal ammonia pipeline.

Before EcoPolitic reported that the environment of the Chernihiv region due to the destruction by the Russian army of the Yuri Gagarin Stadium in Chernihiv suffered losses of 676 million hryvnias .
