Almost 90,000 kilograms of secondary raw materials were collected at the Chorniv landfill

In May 2022, Chernivtsi earned over UAH 300,000 on waste sorting.

This was announced on Thursday, June 23, the press service of the city utility company Chernivtsispetskomuntrans on Facebook.

Last month, employees of the utility company collected and sorted 26,088 kilograms of ordinary PET bottles. Then, 52,763 kilograms of white PET bottles and 8,720 kilograms of glass.

In total, the communal services managed to collect and sort almost 90,000 kilograms of secondary raw materials at the Chorniv landfill.

As a result, for the period from 1 to 31 May, the company managed to get 333,696.94 hryvnia net profit.

Recall that EcoPolitics wrote how residents of Chernivtsi earned the first money on garbage sorting.

In November 2021, in just a few weeks, the city budget received 118 thousand hryvnias thanks to almost 12 tons of raw materials sorted from the Chorniv landfill.

Deputy Mayor Igor Krokhmal told the local newspaper Shpalta that the income had increased due to the organization of the work of Spetskomuntrans.

"It's purely a matter of organizing work. In addition, the demand for recyclables has increased. We plan to increase production," he said.

We will remind also that in Chernivtsi for the first three months on garbage sorting they earned almost a million hryvnias.
