Animals try to adapt to life in war conditions

Soldiers of the Azov Support Force Battalion of the 12th Brigade found an abandoned nest, which the birds had built using fiber optics along with natural materials.

The defenders posted a photo of their unusual find on the brigade's Telegram channel.

Such a non-trivial bird's creation, which mixes natural and artificial materials, was discovered in the Toretsk sector.

The birds used the fiber optic fragments for their own needs before humans.

“This is just one of dozens of examples of how nature survives in the flames of war. Between hundreds of drones, assaults, shelling, and kilometers of scorched earth,” Azov says.

In early May, EcoPolitic reported that the famous storks Hrytsyk and Odarka from Poltava region had their first chicks in 2025.

We also published a photo of what the bottom of the former Kakhovka reservoir looks like in 2025 and how the natural ecosystem of the Velykyi Luh is being restored there. To mark the anniversary of the Kakhovka dam explosion, EcoPolitic has prepared 10 facts that you might not know about this tragedy.
