As a result of the Russian missile attacks, about 80% of the energy facilities were damaged

Ukraine needs alternative energy sources instead of those destroyed by Russia's missiles, Olena Zelenska said during a speech at the second Ukrainian Investment Forum in Denmark.

This was reported by Interfax.

As you know, most of the strikes are on electricity generation facilities. Among the affected facilities was the Trypillia thermal power plant, which was of great importance as a key supplier of electricity, in particular for the Kyiv region. According to Zelenska, the attack damaged about 80% of Ukraine's power generation capacity.

"Obviously, Russia's goal is to destroy as much as possible. They understand very well that for a modern country to be left without electricity means stopping all spheres of activity. This is a humanitarian catastrophe and a war crime, which, most likely, will be tried in the future by an international tribunal. But for now we need to live up to that," Zelenska said.

The first lady addressed Denmark, stressing that Ukraine needs alternative sources of energy to replace those destroyed by Russia with its missile attacks.

"Ukraine will be happy to consider any projects. It's really not only about defense and reconstruction. It's about the lives of our citizens, about their opportunities and the conditions of this life. And, let me remind you, this is exactly what we stand for," she said.

Zelenska also thanked Denmark for the already made contributions to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, as a result of a Russian missile attack on the night of April 11, the Trypil TPP in the Kyiv region was completely destroyed. PJSC "Centrenergo" lost 100% of generation.
