The warehouse will be launched after the end of the war

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources has issued an environmental impact assessment (EIA) to Agro-Market LLC for the construction of a storage tank for carbide-ammonia mixture in Kharkiv.

The warehouse will be located in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city next to the Lopan River, environmental activist Artem Prykhodko reported on Facebook.

UAN, or ammonium nitrate, is used by farmers as a fertilizer.
The EIA report states that a non-residential building at 34 Bukova Street will be reconstructed for the new warehouse. However, the company will not be able to carry out its planned activities until the end or lifting of martial law.

This warehouse is expected to have the greatest impact on the air quality and social environment.

"So friends, another threat will be next to water and people after the war," Prykhodko wrote. – We need to buy bons and sorbent in advance."

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that eco-activist Artem Prykhodko said that in Kharkiv on February 15 they began effective cleaning of rivers from 3,000 tons of oil products, which got into the environment as a result of enemy shelling of an oil depot on February 9. It was possible to stop the spread of oil stains thanks to the simultaneous use of protective barriers and sorbents

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the president of the Association of Environmental Professionals (PAEW) Lyudmila Tsyganok said that in Ukraine the environmental impact assessment procedure (EIA) does not fully fulfill its function and does not contribute to improving the health of the environment, despite being stricter than in EU norms.
