SPP will save almost 1 million hryvnias every year

In Drohobych, Lviv region, City Hospital No. 1 has signed an ESCO contract for the installation of a 144 kW solar power plant.

This is the second energy service contract in Ukraine for the installation of such a power plant, UNDP Ukraine reports on Facebook.

"The 144 kW power plant will guarantee greater energy security for the medical facility, regardless of emergency or planned power outages," the statement said.

It is noted that the community will receive 17% of green electricity from the SPP, which will save almost UAH 1 million a year. The SPP will be installed at the expense of an ESCO company under an energy service agreement, i.e. without any investment from the city budget.

The UNDP added that Drohobych became the seventh community to attract ESCO investments in energy efficiency with the assistance of the UNDP project and the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Boryslav, Lviv Oblast, a solar power plant was installed on the roof of the hospital with the funds of PJSC "Ukrnafta" and the batteries for it with the funds of the community.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, 18 kindergartens in Ukraine have been chosen as winners of the "Solar Energy for Children" competition, which are equipped with solar systems for uninterrupted hot water supply throughout the year. One of the winners was the "Divosvit" kindergarten in Zhydachev, Lviv Region.
