Near Odessa in the village Marynivka eco-inspectors discovered a pipe from which the farm drains return water into the floodplains of the Khadzhibey estuary.
Laboratory analysis showed pollution of the waters of the estuary, the State Environmental Inspection of the South-West District reports on Facebook.
It is noted that the violations were discovered thanks to the appeal of activists from the "For the Right to Live" public organization.
The report emphasized that the pipe with a diameter of approximately 150 mm leads from the territory of the farm, which is located 50-60 meters from the estuary. A number of pollutants were found in the water, namely:
- suspended substances;
- general iron;
- ammonium nitrogen;
- nitrates;
- nitrites;
- phosphates
"The materials on the case were sent to law enforcement agencies with the aim of joining the criminal proceedings, based on the signs of the offense provided for in Part 1 of Art. 239 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine", the message reads.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Odesa, eco-inspectors discovered a quarry where carcasses of goats, sheep and other livestock, as well as the remains of animals after slaughter, were dumped from a nearby farm. To hide the cattle graveyard, the farmers threw straw over the dead animals.
As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in Odesa a dump with 147 tons of insecticide DDT, also called dust, which had been on the coast of the Khadzhibey estuary since 1979, was removed.
