Group of mining and steel companies Metinvest in the first half of 2023 paid to the state and local budgets 302 millions UAH of environmental taxes.
Despite the war, the total amount of taxes and fees paid reached 6.3 billion hryvnias, the press service of Metinvest reports.
Metinvest also paid to state and local budgets, 872 million hryvnias for subsoil use and 589 million hryvnias for land use. In addition, the Group paid:
- UAH 1.5 billion of a single social contribution;
- almost UAH 1.5 billion in personal income tax;
- more than UAH 1 billion in income tax.
The message said that in the II quarter of 2023 "Metinvest" transferred over UAH 3.8 billion to the budget, which is 51% more than in the I quarter of this year. In particular:
- the fee for the use of subsoil has quadrupled to 698 million hryvnias;
- the land fee increased by 4% to 301 million hryvnias;
- environmental tax increased by 23% to 167 million hryvnias.
"Since the beginning of the Great War, the Metinvest Group has refused tax benefits to which it is entitled under the law, and pays taxes in full. We understand that our stability and endurance increase the state's ability to strike in the economic, defense and social directions. We will continue to be a point of support for the country, the army and Ukrainians. We will help as much as necessary – both before victory and after it," said Yuriy Ryzhenkov, CEO of the Metinvest group.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in 2022, Metinvest Group paid 20.5 billion UAH in taxes and fees to budgets of all levels, in particular 600 million hryvnias in environmental taxes.
