The Environmental Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv sent an indictment to the court against the director of the private company that built the protected Dolobetsky Island.
He is suspected of intentionally damaging the object of the nature reserve fund, forging documents and abuse of authority, the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office reports on Facebook.
It is noted that the suspect took part in the development of the territory of the Venetsia beach and the adjacent territory of Dolobetsky Island. However, the contract did not provide for any capital construction on the island, which is part of the Dnipro Islands regional landscape park.
The press service said that a new building was built on the island, despite the lack of permits. They also removed the fertile layer of soil, which deliberately damaged the object of the nature reserve fund. On the basis of forged documents, the suspect registered a new building under his partnership.
The report emphasized that the damage from such actions reached 400,000 hryvnias.
"The suspect fully pleaded guilty to the incriminated offenses and voluntarily compensated for the damage caused to the environment," the press service said, adding that the Ministry of Justice canceled the illegal registration of the building.
It is noted that the indictment against the head of the company was sent to the court together with the plea agreement.
