In Lviv, they plan to complete the construction of a waste processing plant by the end of 2023.

So far, 100% of the design and 25% of the construction works have been completed, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi reported on Facebook.

It is noted that the next stage of the plant's launch will be the installation of equipment.

"The plant will be able to process 250,000 tons of waste per year. This is the amount of waste that is collected every day in Lviv. If more power is needed, the technology will allow it to be provided," said Sadovy.

He added that the Polish company Control Process S.A. is building the plant. It has already created a number of similar enterprises, in particular in Olsztyn, Poland, which is as similar as possible to Lviv.

Sadovyi emphasized that a food and garden waste composting station also operates in Lviv. In addition, the reclamation of the Hrybovytsky landfill is 91% complete, and work is ongoing

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the waste processing plant in Lviv was planned to open on August 10, 2023.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the first waste processing plant in Ukraine opened in Zhytomyr. At present, the depth of first stage processing reaches 40-45%. In a few months, the plant will reach a processing depth of 80-85%, after the launch of the second stage.
