The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, together with the State Energy Efficiency Agency, are working on the adaptation and harmonization of a number of technical regulations with EU directives, which establish minimum requirements for the energy efficiency of products.

Deputy Minister of Energy Yulia Pidkomorna emphasized that this will ensure the high quality and safety of industrial goods for buyers, the Ministry of Energy reports on Facebook.

She also noted that technical regulations adapted and harmonized with European directives will increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian products and the access of Ukrainian goods to European markets.

Their use will help save energy and reduce negative impacts on the environment.

"In the field of ecodesign implementation in Ukraine, 29 technical regulations have already been adopted, which establish minimum requirements for the energy efficiency of energy-consuming products," the report said.

The Ministry of Energy also explained that Ukraine is implementing a system of energy labeling and establishing requirements for the eco-design of energy-consuming products in accordance with the updated EU legislation in order to ensure the full implementation of the obligations undertaken in accordance with the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, as well as within the framework Agreement on the establishment of the Energy Community.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Ukraine from August 1, 2023 enter into force requirements of the new Technical Regulation on energy labeling of energy-consuming products for manufacturers, suppliers and distributors.

As EcoPolitic reported before, the State Department of Energy and Energy Efficiency is working on the development of a government decision on its creation and operation of National energy efficiency monitoring system.
