On Wednesday, September 14, кussian troops bombarded the city of Kryvyi Rih with 8 cruise missiles that damaged the dam of the Karachuniv Reservoir.
Because of this, the water level in the Ingulets River began to rise, and some areas of the city are at risk of flooding, reports the deputy head of the OP Kyrylo Tymoshenko on Telegram.
"This is a terrorist act against our people, against a specific city. After all, the missiles are aimed at buildings that are critically important for people's livelihood," he wrote.
There are no casualties among the civilian population.
Tymoshenko also noted that there was a significant flow of water at the site of the impact – 100 m3 per second. However, the situation is under control.
All relevant services worked throughout the night to eliminate the threat.
The head of the Defense Council of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Valentyn Reznichenko, noted in Telegram that as of the morning of September 15, the water level in the Ingulets river has dropped by 40 centimeters and continues to drop.
"According to the specified data, the Russians hit with Kinjal and Iskander missiles. Due to the attack, the water level in various parts of the Ingulets River rose from 1 to almost 2 meters. At this minute [at 7:39], it was managed to be lowered by 13 centimeters and it and continues to fall. Rescuers and emergency services continue their work," he said.
Reznichenko also noted that 112 private houses and yards were flooded due to the rocket attack. People evacuated. In addition, several water pipes were damaged. Thus, almost 5,000 people were left without water in the Sofiyiv community.
"Restoration works are ongoing," he added.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that due to the destruction of the Irpin Dam, which separated the Irpin River from the Kyiv Reservoir, water flooded the floodplain for more than 20 kilometers upstream.
As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Kryvyi Rih after the shelling on August 29, in some areas significantly air quality has deteriorated.
