During the week, the environmental violators of Ukraine caused losses of 4.46 million hryvnias

In the Kryvyi Rih district, environmental inspectors found large-scale felling of trees near the field protection strip in the Hleiuvata village community, which caused damage worth UAH 1.87 million.

This became the most high-profile violation of environmental legislation for the week of January 5-11, the State Environmental Inspectorate reports on Telegram.

It is noted that a report of a criminal offense was sent to the Kryvyi Rih Northern District Prosecutor's Office.

The report said that the three anti-leader regions also included:

  • Zhytomyr Oblast – more than 1.79 million hryvnias in damages for felling 222 trees in Pulynska Territorial Community. The eco-inspectors also submitted a claim to the Pulynska settlement council for compensation of damages;
  • Odesa – more than 556,000 hryvnias in damages were calculated and a claim was made against a poacher who fished in the channel connecting the Turunchuk River with Lake Putryne in the area of Troitske village.

It is noted that eco-inspectors spent a week 67 control measures in the field of protection and drew up 179 protocols on administrative offenses. The total amount of fines imposed is UAH 46,000.

The press service added that:

  • UAH 41,000 was charged to the State Budget;
  • damages in the amount of UAH 4.46 million were calculated for violating the requirements of environmental protection legislation;
  • the total amount of submitted claims and lawsuits is UAH 252 million;
  • 855,000 hryvnias in damages were collected voluntarily and forcibly.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in December in Kryvyi Rih, eco-inspectors discovered large-scale pollution of the Skelevata stream with waters of unknown origin with a characteristic smell of sewage, which caused damages of over 202.67 million hryvnias.
