Ukrainian specialists will be able to gain experience in managing nature conservation areas according to EU standards

Lithuanian Environment Minister Simonas Gentvilas and his team during their visit to Kyiv promised to take over the newly created Pushcha Radzyvila National Park in the Rivne region.

This was announced by the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Ruslan Strilets on his Facebook page. According to him, Lithuania is preparing large-scale aid for Ukraine: fire trucks, SUVs, equipment for foresters, training on EU standards.

"We agreed with Simonas on Lithuania's patronage of this newly created national park. This will help the park to develop rapidly even during the war. Our Lithuanian colleagues have already handed over computer equipment, a drone, binoculars and cameras to the team of the Pushcha Radzyvila National Park. They have announced even more large-scale assistance, which will be distributed among our natural parks and forestry. Lithuania will hand over 300 sets of fire-resistant clothing for foresters and about 30 vehicles, including SUVs and fire-fighting equipment, to our environmentalists," the Ukrainian minister wrote.

According to Simonas, Lithuania intends to invite Ukrainian conservationists and share the best practices of management of nature conservation zones. In this way, Ukrainian specialists will be able to gain experience in managing nature conservation areas according to EU standards.

"We also signed the Declaration on cooperation in the field of environmental protection between our ministries... I believe that the support of such partners as Lithuania will help Ukraine repel the enemy and preserve natural resources for the Ukrainian people and guests from all over the world," concluded Strelets.

As EcoPolitic, previously the European Union promised Ukraine to help in quick green reconstruction after the war.
