In Ukraine, the Office for the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was launched, the main focus of which, among other things, will be the development and implementation of a mechanism for including the SDGs in national and regional policies, strategies and planning processes.
The implementation of the Central Development Strategy will contribute to the realization of Ukraine's ambitions for European integration and the sustainable post-war recovery of the country, reports the Office of the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration on Facebook.
The Central Committee office was launched at the initiative of Deputy Prime Minister Olga Stefanishyna and the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
The institution will help to strengthen the internal coordination mechanism of the Government for the implementation and monitoring of the Central Development Strategy in order to achieve sustainable recovery of Ukraine and further development. And also in the development of solutions and tools for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the implementation of state policies of Ukraine in accordance with the national SDGs.
In addition, the Office of the Central Committee will contribute to the formation of a mechanism for evaluating projects of regulatory and legal acts in relation to the global agenda and strategic partnerships. And it will also help in providing support in the preparation and analysis of regulatory projects necessary to bring national legislation into EU legislation, taking into account Ukraine's obligations regarding sustainable development.
The message noted that the Office for the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals was created within the framework of the SDG BRIDGE Ukraine project (Increasing sustainability for the effective achievement of development goals), implemented by UNDP Ukraine/UNDP in Ukraine in partnership with the Office of the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with the financial support of Sweden and the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine.
