In Ternopil, the first solar energy system SmartFlower in Ukraine was opened, which looks like a sunflower, which is capable of intelligently tracking the sun, producing up to 40% more energy.
The capacity of such a SES reaches 2.5 kW, which will allow to obtain 4000-6200 kilowatts of energy per year, depending on weather conditions, reports Ternopil city council.
Every day at sunset, Smartflower will automatically fold and clean itself to maintain maximum use of solar energy. Smart flower has already become popular in Europe and the USA.
The implementation of the project in the field of green energy took place thanks to the cooperation of Energy Engineering Company with the Austrian-American company Smart Flower Solar in the field of alternative energy.
The Mayor of Ternopil Serhii Nadal noted that during the war, it is very important to ensure the normal development of the country's economy, as well as the introduction of energy-saving technologies and alternative energy sources.
"For the past few years, we have been living in the conditions of an energy war with Russia, and every year we have a question about energy substitution and the production of electricity from alternative sources. And at the moment, this is already a requirement of today, because thanks to such modern innovative technologies as "Smart Flower", we are able to ensure energy independence from the Russian aggressor, and this directly affects the issue of national security of Ukraine", Nadal emphasized.
He also added that similar installations in Ternopil will be installed in communal facilities and institutions, and the city council will do its best to meet those entrepreneurs who show a desire to implement such projects.
In addition, as part of the opening of the SmartFlower SES, the presentation Investments in alternative sources of energy in the Ternopil region was also held.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that producers of solar electricity called on Ukrainians as much as possible to install solar panels faster, because global investments in SES will only grow.
As EcoPolitic previously reported, Ukrainian experts believe that the growth of clean energy generation can be significant strengthen energy independence country and will contribute to the implementation of the Green course.
