Funds will be returned to the investor at the expense of the achieved savings

In Ukraine, during the first half of 2022, 578 ESCO contracts were concluded for a total amount of more than 1.34 billion hryvnias to increase the level of energy efficiency of budget institutions.

The Energy Service continues to work despite the complexity of the martial law, reports the State Energy Efficiency Agency.

According to the ESCO-mechanism, the return of funds to the investor takes place at the expense of the achieved cost savings on energy consumption.

The article noted that the scale of application of this mechanism may increase due to the need to restore numerous buildings.

Thanks to this mechanism, local self-government bodies in cooperation with investors are able to implement energy-efficient measures at social infrastructure facilities.

"Therefore, in order to implement the Law of Ukraine "On Energy Efficiency", the State Energy Efficiency Agency is developing a number of subordinate legal acts to improve the energy service," the message says.

Currently, a project to update the list of energy service providers, as well as potential energy service objects, has been prepared, which is coordinated with the interested bodies.

Earlier EcoPolitic wrote, that on July 9, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on the introduction of complex thermal modernization buildings

As previously EcoPolitic reported, Ukraine is planning to create new jobs for citizens thanks to the wide implementation of energy efficiency projects in all sectors of the economy.
