Air parameters are within normal limits

In Kyiv on Monday, July 11, people smell smoke from smoldering in the air peatlands in Nova Hreblya, Borodyansk region.

Residents are advised to close windows and doors tightly until the smell dissipates, reports State Emergency Service of Ukraine on Telegram.

"Since the very morning, the smell of burning can be felt in Kyiv, which can cause concern for the residents of the capital," the State Emergency Service noted.

The rescuers explained that there are no serious fires in Kyiv, and the wind carries the smell of smoke from peatlands towards the city.

It was also emphasized that air parameters are within normal limits.

Earlier EcoPolitic informed, in Kherson oblast as a result of hostilities fires destroy protected forests tracts, in particular the Flying Sands and the Nedohorsky forest, which can cause the loss of the green lungs of the region and turn the soils into sandy mounds.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in the Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions due to russian shelling the fire destroyed about 20 hectares of wheat. The Ministry of Defense noted that it is not wheat that is on fire, but the food security of the world.
