Ukravtoprom explained what caused the demand

In May 2022, the Ukrainian fleet was replenished with more than a thousand electric vehicles, which is 63% more than the same period a year ago.

The growth in demand for electric cars among Ukrainians, specialists of the Association of Automobile Manufacturers "Ukravtoprom" associated with the fuel crisis.

"In May, the Ukrainian fleet was replenished with 1016 fully electric vehicles (BEV). This result was better since the beginning of the year and 63% more than a year ago," the report says.

According to analysts, the share of new cars in this number was 28% against 11% last year.

The bulk of electric vehicles registered in May were passenger cars – 984 units. (new – 287 units, used – 697 units). Compared to last year's result, BEV registrations in May jumped by almost 67%.

Meanwhile, the demand for commercial electric vehicles relative to May 2021 has not changed.

In general, since the beginning of the year, 3,090 electric vehicles have been registered in Ukraine, which is 2.5% more than in the same period in 2021. The share of used equipment in this amount is 80%.

As before, Nissan Leaf remains the most popular electric car on the Ukrainian market (567 cars of this model received Ukrainian registration in five months).

In second place is the Tesla Model 3 (263 registrations).

Closes the top three Volkswagen e-Golf (156 cars).

The top five most popular electric cars in Ukraine also included Volkswagen ID.4 – 138 units. and Dong Feng M-NV – 132 registrations.

At the same time, Renault Kangoo Z.E remains the market leader in commercial electric vehicles – 77 registrations.

Before EcoPolitics reported that in Ukraine buyers of electric car models may be exempted from paying the fee to the Pension Fund.
