According to media reports, demand for electric cars increased in Ukraine during martial law

In Ukraine buyers of electric car models can be exempted from paying a fee to the Pension Fund.

The relevant bill №7418, developed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, has already been registered with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Draft law No. 7418 provides for the removal of VAT on the import of cars that are equipped with one or more electric motors.

The document is currently under consideration by the Parliamentary Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy. Soon it should be submitted directly for approval to the session hall of Parliament.

“This law will stimulate the development of the electric car market in Ukraine. It is unlikely that we will ever see incentive bonuses of 3-4 thousand euros, like in Germany, or tax benefits, like in California, when buying an electric car. But at least they didn’t interfere.

If this law becomes a reality, then the next step for the development of electric vehicles in Ukraine is the establishment of a network of electric filling stations, which also will not do without state assistance," said Oleg Nazarenko, Director General of the All-Ukrainian Association of Automobile Importers and Dealers.

Recall that the other day the media reported that in Ukraine during martial law, the demand for electric vehicles increased. The reason was the shortage of gasoline and diesel fuel.

We add that there is no official information on the sale of electric cars in Ukraine over the past few months. Association "Ukravtoprom" has ceased to publish relevant statistical information.

However, adviser to the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure for the development of electric transport, Marina Kitina, said earlier that 460 cars with an electric power plant were registered in Ukraine in April. She is sure that in May this figure will be higher.

Before EcoPolitics reported that Lviv solid waste carriers urged Lviv residents and guests of the city to sort garbage and reduce its amount due to lack of fuel to take care of its export.
