According to Semenyshyn, solar stations are looted or destroyed

Executive Director of the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine Artem Semenyshyn also called Russia's war in Ukraine a war against renewable energy.

He made such a statement these days at a conference within the framework of the international exhibition INTERSOLAR 2022 in Munich, according to the association's Facebook page.

The session discussed the most promising solar energy markets in Europe, drivers and challenges for market growth, and the speakers shared their views on the long-term prospects of the industry.

During his speech, Artem Semenyshyn paid special attention to the war in Ukraine and stressed that in many cities people are left without electricity, solar stations are looted or destroyed.

"This is also a war against renewable energy," Semenyshyn told the audience, showing photos of the affected solar power plants.

He ended the presentation with the words: "This new energy reality is real driver for PV".

Before EcoPolitica reported that the Russian invasion of Ukraine could result in more than $1 billion in losses for Ukraine's renewable energy sector.
