Animal rights activists launched a program to sterilize homeless animals and pets of owners who cannot pay for this procedure on their own in 22 cities of Ukraine.

The program can be used by the elderly, internally displaced persons and those who have many animals under their care, reports the public organization UAnimals on Facebook.

As you know, sterilization is an effective and necessary method to combat the uncontrolled reproduction of homeless animals. In addition, sterilization extends the life of animals by 3-5 years and prevents the occurrence of a number of diseases, including cancer.

Zoo activists noted that in order to participate in the program, it is necessary to contact the local coordinator.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the study of the company Gradus on the attitude of Ukrainians to the sterilization of animals showed that 82% of Ukrainians consider sterilization as a solution to the problem of homeless animals.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, a campaign was held in Kyiv for the free sterilization of pets of pensioners, immigrants and other vulnerable categories of citizens.
