Land resources suffered the greatest damage

In Ukraine, for 9 months of 2022, eco-inspectors calculated 1.34 billion hryvnias of damage to the environment caused by violators of the requirements of environmental legislation.

During this time, eco-violators compensated for damages in the amount of more than 53.28 million hryvnias and fines at the level of 91%, which is 2.8 million hryvnias, reports State Inspection on Telegram.

The message noted that during this time, eco-inspectors conducted almost 6,000 control measures and drew up more than 8,900 protocols on administrative violations. In addition, according to the inspection materials, law enforcement agencies initiated 419 criminal cases.

Land resources suffered the greatest damage – more than 751 million hryvnias.

"This amount of damage was caused by the littering of territories, unauthorized dumping and placement of waste. It is these violations that remain today among the most common," the press service of the State Inspection Service said.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that for the first half of 2022 in Ukraine, violators of environmental protection requirements caused damage to the environment in the total amount of 742.7 million UAH. 152 criminal proceedings have been opened against them.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, eco-inspectors calculated 1.3 trillion hryvnias of damage caused by Russian troops to the environment of Ukraine for 7 months of full-scale invasion.
