People's deputies will consider 3 "pre-war" draft laws on the prevention of industrial pollution and 1 new one

On Wednesday, December 28, 2022, a meeting of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Environmental Policy and Nature Management will be held via video conference at 2:00 p.m.

EcoPolitic prepared for its readers the committee's agenda.

People's deputies will consider draft laws on industrial pollution, for which the environmental committee is designated as the main:

  • draft law No. 6004 "On integrated prevention and control of industrial pollution";
  • draft law No. 6004-1 "On prevention, reduction and control of pollution arising as a result of industrial activity";
  • draft law No. 6004-2 "On ensuring the constitutional rights of citizens to an environment safe for life and health";
  • another draft law in accordance with the Committee Decision No. 148/1 dated 12/22/2022.

The team of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources is preparing together with Ukrainian and international experts alternative draft law on prevention of industrial pollution. The document should contribute to the eco-modernization of large industrial polluters.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Ukraine the reform of subsoil use has begun, which is designed to transform the State Geology and Subsoil Service into a service institution, modernize the "rules of the game" and ensure effective control by the state.
