The most high-profile violation was recorded in Zhytomyr

In Ukraine, eco-inspectors calculated 2.1 million hryvnias of damage to the environment per week for violating the requirements of environmental protection legislation.

During this period, damages in the amount of 1.2 million hryvnias were charged to the state budget from violators in a voluntary and compulsory manner, reports State Inspection.

Eco-inspectors conducted 24 environmental protection measures and drew up 77 protocols on administrative offenses.

The most high-profile violation of environmental protection legislation by business entities was recorded in Zhytomyr.

Concerned citizens reported the pollution of water resources to the SEI hotline. SEI specialists took samples of untreated sewage, which entered the creek from the non-working sewage pumping station.

The investigators provided the Inspectorate with information on the amount of untreated sewage discharged into the reservoir as part of the open criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 242 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine on this fact. Damages amounted to more than 1.5 million hryvnias.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the Zhytomyr region, eco-inspectors calculated more than 525 million hryvnias in damages, what russian troops have done to the environment.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Zhytomyr region near the village of Ocheretyanka, black loggers stole 137 trees, which caused losses in the amount of 1.7 million UAH.
