DTEK is looking for investors for the construction of the second phase of Tyligul wind farm

DTEK General Director Maksym Timchenko said that the company plans to build at least 2 GW of green power in Ukraine by 2030.

In an interview with Forbes he said that by the end of 2024, DTEK will develop construction projects of 600-700 MW of wind generation.

Timchenko noted that the company is currently looking for investors for the construction of the second phase of the Tyligul wind farm with a capacity of 384 MW. The construction period will reach 18 months.

"We have shown that we are ready to build during a major war, to take risks. To launch the first stage of the station, we invested our own funds – €200 million. In the second stage, we are ready to invest €100-120 million, or 30% of the project's cost," he said.

Tymchenko emphasized that the company is negotiating with Great Britain to raise the remaining funds for the project. After all, under the condition of using 20% of local equipment, you can get the country's insurance.

He added that Vestas will be able to start delivering the equipment within months of signing the financing agreements.

Tymchenko also spoke about ambitious plans to build up to 5,000 MW of renewable energy in Europe by 2030, which would require €6-6.5 billion of investment. Thus, in Romania, DTEK plans to complete the construction of a 60 MW wind power plant and a 50 MW solar power plant by the first quarter of 2024. In addition, in 2024 the company plans to start building a wind farm in Croatia, as well as in Italy and Poland.

He added that in all European projects, the company did not obtain state support, and works on market conditions.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in May in Mykolaiv Oblast, the first stage of the Tyligul wind power station with a capacity of 114 MW from 19 wind turbines was launched.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in March, in the de-occupied Kherson region, specialists of the company "DTEK VDE" restored the operation of the Trifonivska solar power plant by 50%.
