Physical joining will take place in early 2023

For the first time in Ukraine, the Hals Agro biomethane production plant in Chernihiv region joined the gas distribution networks of RGС.

The plant's design capacity is about 3 million cubic meters. m of biomethane per year, which will provide approximately 1,500 families, the "Regional Gas Company" (RGС) reports on Facebook.

Currently, the biogas produced at the plant is used only for electricity generation under the green tariff. However, in the future, part of this biogas will be purified to biomethane and pumped into gas distribution networks.

The physical joining of the agricultural holding's plant capacities will take place at the beginning of 2023.

"Now RGС specialists, together with Hals Agro and Chernihivgaz JSC, scientific and expert institutions, are developing technical solutions for connecting production to gas distribution networks using the most modern equipment from leading manufacturers Pietro Fiorentini and Emerson," the material said.

Earlier EcoPolituc unformed, that National Commission for State Regulation in the spheres of energy and utilities has approved changes to the Codes of gas transportation and gas distribution systems, which will allow supply of biomethane in the network.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Ukraine, gas distribution companies operating under the RGC brand will provide services for the preparation of technical conditions, project approval and physical joining biomethane producers to gas distribution networks.
