Eco-inspectors took liquid samples for laboratory testing

Oil flowed from a well instead of drinking water in the village of Kachanivka, Okhtyrka district, in Sumy region.

Eco-inspectors are establishing the causes and circumstances of the emergency, the State Environmental Inspection in the Sumy region reports on Facebook.

The report noted that the appeal from a local resident was received on December 15. A state inspector for environmental protection immediately went to the scene.

"He confirmed the fact that a dark viscous liquid with a characteristic smell of oil is pouring out of the well," the press service said.

The eco-inspector took liquid samples for instrumental laboratory analysis and determination of its composition and properties.

"All competent institutions and services were promptly notified of this fact," the authors emphasized.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that eco-inspectors in Sumy analyzed the water quality of the Psel, Sumka and Strelka rivers, Kosivshchyna Reservoir and Chekha Lake. According to the set of indicators, the Sumka River had the worst water quality in the section of the riverbed in the Central Market area.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in the occupied Kherson region, due to the destruction of ships in ports by Russian troops, about 10 tons of fuel and lubricants.
