SES in Chernigov school will save up to 30% of energy per year

On the roofs of Chernigov school No. 33 and Khmelnitsky Higher vocational school No. 25 installed solar panels to partially meet the institutions' electricity needs.

In the vocational school, the SES will also serve educational purposes, because from 2024 the institution will train specialists in the installation and maintenance of such stations, reports E.

It is noted that this is a joint project of the institution and the public organization “Khmelnytsky Energy Cluster”. The power of the station is 3.5 kW, which partially meets the needs of one of the buildings. However, the main goal of SES is educational.

“The green energy sector is one of the professions where the future belongs. And we hope that Ukraine’s recovery will also be green. And accordingly, this process will require special personnel,” said the executive director of the Khmelnytsky Energy Cluster, Artur Kokarevich.

The material said that the SPP was collected by students of the school under the guidance of teachers and specialists. This will allow them to study alternative energy and monitor the processes of solar energy accumulation.

Public reported that a school in Chernigov was equipped with a rooftop solar power plant consisting of 20 panels and industrial-type lithium iron phosphate batteries. The total power of the station reaches 10 kW. It will be able to provide uninterrupted power supply for 20 hours.

The material said that the station was installed as part of the energy independence program of the Nova Ukraine charitable foundation for $25 thousand.

It is noted that the SPP already provides power to the bomb shelter and ventilation system.

According to the head of the city education department, Vasily Bilogura, school No. 33 was chosen because it has a large shelter. In addition, its roof was recently repaired after being damaged by the occupiers. This is the first part of the project, then the benefactors will install another solar power plant on the roof of this school.

“We looked at the average annual electricity consumption, and I think that after the completion of the entire project, if the system works as we said, it will allow us to save somewhere up to 25-30% of the establishment’s annual electricity consumption. This is quite a significant saving in terms of funds as well,” he said.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Khmelnitsky, on the territory of higher vocational school No. 25, three benches with solar panels with USB ports from which you can charge gadgets were installed.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in 2022 the Chernihiv region received about 100 sets of solar panels with inverters and batteries for the needs of rescuers and ordinary residents.
