In Kyiv, the court decided to collect 10.2 million hryvnias from the regional branch of South-Western Railway, a division of Ukrzaliznytsia for soil pollution.

Part of the territory of the Darnytsia locomotive depot was littered with slag industrial waste, namely spent crushed stone, the State Environmental Inspection of the Capital District reports on Facebook.

The report said that experts of the Pechersk District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv filed the lawsuit. The commercial court satisfied him in full.

As you know, spent crushed stone is a waste of the track distance production process, which occurs during track maintenance, capital works and modernization.

It is noted that violations of the requirements of environmental protection legislation were discovered in September 2021 during an inspection.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the regional branch of Lviv Railway of Ukrzaliznytsia reimbursed 340.7 thousand UAH for the destruction of 233 trees in the Zhovkiv district. Eco-inspectors discovered the violation back in February 2020, but the person who committed the offense was never identified.

Previously, EcoPolitic prepared a selection of the biggest accidents on the Ukrainian railway, which led to environmental pollution and their potential danger.
