Ukrainian government plans to integrate Crimea into the ENTSO-E system and develop renewable energy sources on the peninsula after de-occupation.

Currently, an economic model for the development of Crimea is being developed as part of the Peninsula Recovery Strategy, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmyhal in Telegram.

Shmyhal noted that this was discussed at the third summit of the Crimean platform.

He said that the development model consists of five key points, namely:

  • Crimea is a new tourist center in Europe, which will operate throughout the year. To do this, they plan to create a new hotel infrastructure and new public spaces under the Krym365 brand;
  • connection of Crimea with Ukraine, Europe and the world – the construction of four autobahns, two international airports, the dismantling of the Crimean bridge for safe navigation on the Black and Azov Seas;
  • integration of Crimea into the ENTSO-E system and stake on renewable energy sources. Development of the Black Sea gas shelf using the latest technologies. Thanks to this, Crimea will become a net exporter of energy resources;
  • development of the agricultural sector;

"We are preparing a project for the restoration of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station to irrigate southern Ukraine. We will bet on small farms, we will scale the eWork program to support viticulture in Crimea," he said. Shmygal.

Recall, expert of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center Yevgeny Khlobistov at the COP27 Climate Summit said that the issues of the de-occupation of Crimea are closely related to solution of environmental problems, in particular, to overcome the damage caused to natural resources and the environment.
