The Verkhovna Rada has registered Draft Law No. 13351, which provides for the extension of the preferential regime for the import of vehicles equipped exclusively with electric motors.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Energy publication.
Draft Law No. 13351 is entitled “On Amendments to Clause 64 of Subsection 2 of Section XX ‘Transitional Provisions’ of the Tax Code of Ukraine regarding the extension of the preferential regime for the import of vehicles equipped exclusively with electric motors”.
This document was registered by a group of 10 MPs led by former Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov.
According to the current legislation, electric cars are exempt from customs duties (10% of the car's value) and VAT (20%). The current benefits are valid only until the end of 2025.
At the same time, industry experts predict that the preferential import of electric vehicles will not be extended in a situation where the budget needs money for the needs of the army.
Earlier, EcoPolicy told how much it costs to charge an electric car in Ukraine in May. This calculation was made by analysts of the Automotive Market Research Institute.
