A "smart" meter and the use of household appliances at night will allow you to save up to 30-40% on paying bills

Ukrainians were urged to prepare for the winter period and take care of the energy security of their apartments and private houses.

Specialists of the analytical center DiXi Group on Facebook shared tips on how to insulate the home, support the energy system, and save electricity and money on its payment.

"There are simple and affordable solutions that we can implement in our homes to make this heating season more comfortable and safer," the analyst said. Dihi Group Bohdan Serebrennikov.

He called on Ukrainians:

  • insulate windows, doors and walls;
  • if necessary, replace the lighting system with an energy-efficient one;
  • install a "smart" electricity meter and transfer part of the automated household processes to the night (from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.);
  • give preference to more energy-efficient household appliances;
  • stock up on alternative sources of energy supply.

Serebrennikov explained that a significant part of heat is lost through windows, doors and walls. Therefore, it is worth sealing windows and doors, or even replacing them, as well as insulating the facade. This will help not to "warm up" the house with heaters.

He emphasized that it is also worth replacing old incandescent lamps with energy-saving ones. In particular, thanks to the program for exchanging such lamps for new LED-lamps in Ukrposhta branches, which can be done by both citizens and legal entities.

It is noted that the night tariff is half as low, and the load on the power system is greatest during peak hours, i.e. in the morning and evening. That's why it's worth it set "smart" meter and try to postpone some household chores to the night (after 11 p.m.). This will allow you to save up to 30-40% on paying bills.

"We need to prepare for the fact that the winter will be difficult, so in case of possible blackouts, batteries, generators and other alternative sources of energy supply will be needed," Serebrennikov urged.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, Ukrainians were urged to prep

are for possible power outages in the winter period, because the probability of Russian terrorist attacks on the power system is very high.
