The purchase price of the chestnut exceeded the value of the scrap metal

In Poltava, townspeople were offered to hand in chestnuts at a record high price of 5.5 hryvnias per kilogram.

Harvested chestnuts will become raw materials for medical preparations and food additives, writes Serhiy Antonenko, coordinator of the public organization "Batteries, surrender" on Facebook with a link to media "Fundament".

He emphasized that the delivery of chestnuts is an opportunity for Ukrainians to make money and help the city get rid of organic waste.

"For the first time, the purchase price of horse chestnut exceeded the price of scrap metal," noted Antonenko.

Chestnuts can be sold at the reception point of recycled materials in Poltava at the address: 7 Seryogina Street.

In addition, the point also accepts secondary raw materials:

  • waste paper;
  • plastic;
  • glass.

"Collect junk at home or collect chestnuts - hand them over to the reception center – send the funds to the Armed Forces," suggested the editors of the "Fundament" media.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Poltava, the point of reception of secondary raw materials offers a free service of psychological and emotional rehabilitation, namely breaking glass bottles with a hammer. This practice helps to spit out negative emotions.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, Kharkiv residents can return unnecessary things to the ecohub for reuse, or pick up the things you need, as well as help other people with food through a foot bank.
